So over the last few strips I’ve been trying to set up Penguin as a tough guy. Well maybe not so much a tough guy as much as a “capable warrior”. I’m telling you – he’s basically a short bird version of Captain America and after having him run away from grenades for a few strips I wanted to show him get out of a sticky situation like no one else could.

I’m switching gears now to focus the same sort of “capable soldiery” (is that a word?) in the mysterious ninja character. Up until now we’ve seen this character do very little except shoot arrows and get hit by a drawbridge. It’s important that he’s just as capable as Penguin. You’ll find out why eventually.
