Amazon gets into gaming
Who hasn't played the "find items to get your Amazon.com cart over $35 for the free shipping" game? It was an obsession for me. I would order something that was on sale for 10 bucks and then spend 2 hours to find something else that would add up to 25 more bucks to get the free shipping. That is, I used to do that until I got Amazon Prime. I can't really tell if I spent more money on Amazon.com with or without Amazon Prime. Now, I place more orders for smaller amounts of money, whereas I used to place less orders for at least 25 bucks a pop.
I'm not sure how I feel about Amazon's set top box, the Amazon Fire TV. From a gaming perspective, I can't see how it could replace console or PC gaming. I haven't really seen it in action, but it seems more analagous to the OYUA than an Xbox or Playstation. Which, I guess if you're getting the Amazon Fire TV for it's media capabilities, having gaming built in is an added bonus.
