Basically it's the same idea as when everyone on the internet drew Batgirl, except that we keep doing it. We pick a topic, and anyone who wants to doodles the theme and submits it in the thread. When the deadline hits, we vote for the best one, and that person gets to pick the next theme and deadline.

Keep in mind, these aren't meant to be masterpieces, or even necessarily finished pieces, it's mostly to serve as a drawing exercise and a way to encourage ourselves to draw more.

This week's theme: Advanced Super-Technology (In honor of the Iron Man movie)

Anything with super-advanced tech, either modern or retro.
Power armor, laser rifles, giant robots, steam-punk robots, jet-packs, etc.

Deadline: Thursday, March 27th

It didn't specify that I couldn't take it all the way to finished, and since the objective is for it to serve as an exercise, I think this was a good exercise for me Smile

I won the last challenge with a finished pic. It says doodle because the contest is based on overall content, including humor. If someone wants to enter and they are not as talented of an artist as others on the board, they have a chance to win based on overall concept and humor, not just art quality.

I would also add, that the point isn't necessarily to win. It's to make art and have an excuse to keep you motivated to do it. Lord knows I struggle with motivation. Don't get me wrong, Van's going to win because his is just awesome, but I really hope that doesn't discourage others from putting stuff up. It's more about making something and sharing it than an actual competition. Hell, the only reason it became a competition was an excuse to get people to come up with next challenge other than myself, and to help keep it going. I still plan to enter, even knowing I won't win. Though I suppose, I should probably draw something...

Van, do you think you could take that sketch a bit further? I'm thinking about what was perceived as super advanced technology from other eras. Like, the 50s art deco perception of super advanced technology. Or Victorian ideas of super advanced technology. It'd be interesting to see a few other eras represented.

Hmm. I can replace "BOOBIES" with a photo of some boobies, how about that.

Boobies with iPods in them?

Wanker: Nice work man, I love it! Can you scan it, you slack bastard? Wink

Is anyone else going to enter or what! I didn't think mine was good enough to stop others entering, so I hope you're all actually just lazy rather than intimidated - there's certainly no cause for that, and like it was said; it's not a competition!

I wouldn't say I'm being lazy. I'd put myself in the non-artist category that doesn't want to post their poor excuses for artwork. Nevertheless, my entry:

I guess laziness does factor in though. If I spent more then 10 minutes on this it would probably look better.
