Image Resize

Think we could implement this?

direct download link: Resize Posted Images Based on Max Width 2.4.5.zip

It resizes images that exceed whatever width you want to set (the images can be reviewed by clicking on the thumbnail if oyu want the full view, much like with the avatars).

What do you think?

This is sort of funny since you used to have an avatar that was like 500p in width and the forum had to resize it everytime. :P

Yeah... that's true. But because of the functionality of the forum, it didn't affect people for long. This serves the same purpose.

This is fucking ridiculous. A certain user on this forum is using an avatar that is half a fucking megabyte. Is it seriously asking that much for the admin around to make an effort?

I'd rather not even have avatar resizing at all really. If you guys want something as an avatar just pm me with a link to it and I'll crop it down to the size you want and color correct it and everything, and host it. This avatar resizing annoys me that much.

Is not the admin's fault - but it's something the admin can easily rectify and prevent individuals from being called to the carpet in the future.

Or... more specifically, will prevent new users from making the same error since it's not expressly stated as a no-no anywhere in the rules.

It's just a common courtesy thing. Some people access the forums on a slower connection. Larger avatars slow everything down.

We still need a ban on images in signatures. Like I don't see enough banners on every other website.

I mostly agree with this.. though I'd be for just giving a size limit to images that are allowed in sigs... but an all out ban wouldn't make me cry.

Yeah, apologies, it's not the admin's fault. It's just the sort of thing forum admins need to be on top of. Sorry, I should add the usual In My Opinion qualifier.

Psh. You never do in real life. Why start online?

And who said anything about rules? We don't need no stinking rules. What, are we anal about how people post on here? Come off it.

But implementing something like this would be a good idea (if I do say so...).

And Afr0, turn on adblocker. It should be able to block out sigads.

Or maybe you can do everyone on the forum a favor and just remove your sig.

I would settle for just making it smaller. There's no reason it needs to be that big.
